Dr. Jovian Tan is a Kuala Lumpur–based technopreneur and a strong believer in the transformative potential of the Web3 application layer to reshape industries and digital ecosystems. As Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Bitara, he leads the development of blockchain-driven solutions focused on real-world adoption — bridging innovation with scalable, enterprise-grade infrastructure across digital-asset exchanges, DeFi systems, and tokenization platforms.
Over the past decade, he has led distributed ledger technology (DLT) initiatives across e-commerce, supply chain, and financial services, driving the practical adoption of blockchain and emerging technologies in real-world enterprise environments. His expertise spans blockchain infrastructure, enterprise architecture, digital platforms, and emerging financial technologies.
Beyond Bitara, Jovian is the founder of two startups in education technology and blockchain research, working closely with engineers, partners, and industry stakeholders to translate complex technologies into scalable, commercially viable solutions.
Before his entrepreneurial journey, he served as a Mobility Technology Solutions Professional Champion at Microsoft, where he architected and positioned partner SI/ISV solutions for large-scale enterprise digital transformation programmes — frequently engaging C-level stakeholders to align technology strategy with measurable business outcomes.
He holds a First-Class Honours degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Global Humanities Studies from ANC Philippines.
